Professional Training
High-quality, evidence-informed training for school leaders and staff teams
Grounded in lived leadership experience and the realities of today’s classrooms.
All training is designed and delivered professional development that goes beyond theory. Drawing on my experience as a Headteacher, SENCO, Strategic Lead for SEMH provision and parent to two neurodivergent children, my training bridges the gap between research and practice - ensuring that what we discuss translates meaningfully into day-to-day school life.
This is not generic INSET.
It is strategic, context-aware development that strengthens both practice and culture.
Training Themes
Understanding Behaviour as Communication
Drawing on experiences as a parent and educator, this training session looks at how we can reframe behaviour and support children in school who struggle to regulate their emotions through co-regulation. It provides practical strategies to help staff feel confident in the classroom in supporting children with different needs.
Developing Effective LSA Support in the Classroom
This facilitated workshop supports LSAs in their understanding of their crucial role in the classroom, how they can promote independence, use visuals and scaffolds to support learning and develop confidence in their skills.
Creating Inclusive Classrooms - Universal Provision and Adaptative Practice
Delving into what high quality Teaching and Learning look like in the classroom, this training helps teachers and LSAs to provide the right support for children in their learning and address the barriers children face in the classroom.
Demand Avoidance and Supporting Regulation
Brining together experience and knowledge of working with children who are demand avoidant, this training supports teachers and LSAs to develop practical strategies to ensure they are proactively creating an environment where children with demand avoidant profiles can flourish. It also looks at co-regulation and gives clear guidance on how we can support dysregulation and reflect on situations as they arise.
Supporting Sensory Needs in the Classroom
Delivering practical strategies to support sensory needs in your classroom, this training considers how our environment can impact on learning, what needs to be in place to provide support for sensory integration and practical ways we can support children individually, in small groups and as a whole class.
Bespoke Training
All training can be adapted to your school’s priorities and needs. As an ex-Headteacher and SENCO, I can provide training on multiple areas across Early Years, Teaching and Learning, Transition and Policy Implementation.
Training can be delivered to individual schools, multiple schools or Trust/Local Authority wide.
